Lake Almanor West Golf Course
Lake Almanor West Golf Course can be found in the Lake Almanor West community on the lake’s West Shore. Shorter in overall yardage but often times narrow and challenging, LAWGC prioritizes precision over power. This mountain course is nestled between tall trees surrounding the fairway and makes for a great round. While only 9 holes, the tee and hole locations keep things interesting and mix up the par 4s and 5s between the back and front nines. Lake Almanor West Golf Course has both gas-powered carts and hand carts available for rental, as well as a fully-stocked pro shop. With a full practice range, putting green, and chipping green with a sand trap, this golf facility doesn’t skimp on the amenities. It plays at 6,318 yards and is a standard par 72. The Lake Almanor West Grill is open most days (call ahead to be safe but it’s open 7 days a week in the summer) and serves up tasty lunches to golfers and diners alike. Take a relaxed lunch in between sides or call a couple holes ahead for a quick hot dog and keep golfing. The Grill serves dinner on selected weekend nights during the summer, so call ahead or stop by to check availability. Lake Almanor Country Club Golf Course
Lake Almanor Country Club Golf Course can be found on the Peninsula on the northeast side of the lake. This self-described semi-private course is slightly more traditional in design than mountain courses like LAWGC but still has a good amount of tree cover. With breathtaking views and plenty of greenery, Lake Almanor Country Club’s golf course makes for a fantastic destresser. This course is only 9 holes but can be repeated for a full 18, with a full driving range and practice facilities. It plays at 5,932 yards and is a par 71. LACCGC offers PGA professional lessons and a complete restaurant and lounge, which can be reached by calling the number below. Visit their website to make a tee time or for more information. Bailey Creek Golf Course
Bailey Creek Golf Course is the newer golf course in the area, and as such provides an arguably higher-end experience. 18 holes and with more space for clubhouse, practice range, and multiple practice greens, Bailey Creek is also the largest course in the Lake Almanor basin. This is reflected in the distance, where you can play at the tips for a 7,040 yard round or dial it back to the low-6,000 range. Bailey Creek is a par 72 golf course and is described as a traditional mountain course, though it is probably the most wide open of the three area courses. This is a fantastic course, allowing for all levels of play and a lot of varied play at the cost of higher fees. Visit their website or call the pro shop for more information.
