Driving Directions

From Reno:
Take Hwy 395 North towards Susanville. Near the Nevada/California border Hwy 395 turns into Hwy 36. Follow Hwy 36 through Chester. Turn Left onto Hwy 89 approximately 2 miles past Chester. Go approximately 5.5 miles and turn left at sign that says "Almanor 1." Follow to Plumas Pines Resort.

From Sacramento:
Take I-5 north. A short ways outside of Sacramento take a right onto Hwy 99 North. Take right turn onto Hwy 70 North towards Oroville and Quincy. Take left onto Hwy 89. Turn right onto Prattville Butt Valley Reservoir Road. Signs also say "Lake Almanor West Shore." At bottom of hill turn left onto Almanor Drive West. Follow to Plumas Pines Resort.

From Chico:
Follow Hwy 32 East. Turn right onto Hwy 36 where Hwy 32 dead ends. Follow Hwy 36 towards Chester. Take right onto Hwy 89 two miles before Chester. Go approximately 6.2 miles and turn left at sign that says "Lake Almanor West Shore" and follow to Plumas Pines Resort.

From Red Bluff:
Follow Hwy 99 towards Chico. Take left onto Hwy 36 towards Chester, mineral and Lassen Park.Take right onto Hwy 89 two miles before Chester. Go approximately 6.2 miles and turn left at sign that says "Lake Almanor West Shore" and follow to Plumas Pines Resort.            

*If you're driving or towing a camping rig, it's better to stay on I-5 until Red Bluff, and take Hwy 36 from there. The Hwy 32 and Hwy 70 contains more hills and winding roads.*

Airport
Chester is home to Rogers Field, a small airport for private planes. It is also home to a US Forest Service firefighting base for planes and helicopters. If you wish to fly into chester to come see us you can get more information at www.airnav.com/airport/o05

Shuttle service can be arranged to and from rogers field with proper notiice.
