Please Join us for the 2nd annual Plumas Pines Resort Rib Cook Off
In the summer of 2021, the Dixie Fire destroyed the homes of 4 employees of Plumas Pines Resort. We knew it was time to step up and throw them a fundraiser to get them back on their feet, so we began planning a fun party. We weren't far into the planning stages when we realized that the amount of care and giving from our local friends, neighbors and guests far exceeded what we needed to give just to our staff members. At that time, we teamed up with the Almanor Foundation as a local non-profit and renamed the party "Dixie Fire Relief," so that it could benefit many more people in our community. We served more than 320 people with ribs from 12 booths serving 168 racks of ribs. The 2021 Rib cook off raised more than $75,000 in one day!! The event blew our wildest expectations and the ribs were tasty. The donations from local vendors for raffle prizes were top notch and the weather was perfect. The party was a hit and it helped so many people in our area. Thank you to all who were a part of the event's success.
Now it's time for Plumas Pines Resort to host the party again, and this time it's in the name of our local Hospital. Seneca Healthcare District is in the planning stages of a New Hospital Build, and it won't be cheap. They're looking at a cost of $56 million dollars, and without this hospital our community is nothing. It's time for all of us to step up and help in any way we can. This year's Rib Cook off will be one for the books and we hope you can attend. Tickets go on sale August 22 at 12 PM. Mark your calendars as this event will sell out quickly.
2022 Rib Cook Off Fundraiser monetary goal: $250,000
How it all works:
You can purchase a rib tasting kit for $40 which will allow you to enter facilities and enjoy ribs from 4 of the 16 rib booths. You then get to use your golden ticket to let your favorite booth get your "best rib vote." You will also get 2 raffle tickets, a free beer ticket and more. This ticket also allows you to enjoy cocktails, beer booths, a bunch of vendors, raffle prizes, a silent auction and more. For more information and ticket sales click the following link. If you want to join the party without eating ribs, you can purchase a "General Entry" ticket for $10. Limited food will be sold by Plumas Pines Bar & Grill on the patio.
A Few Notes:
350 total tickets will be sold for rib tastings. Only 250 of these will be sold online so that we can reserve 100 tickets for donors of the fundraiser. 5:00PM conclusion of event. Guests are welcome to continue hanging out to have dinner/drinks.
Reservations for dinner are highly recommended.
